Graphic file uploads: Formats and Sizes
Admin file uploads
To help shop owners build a library of graphic assets and design templates for customer use, the following file types and formats are supported for upload:
Raster graphics (images):
- Supported Formats: .png, .jpg
- File Size Limit: 10 MB
- Editing: Once uploaded, images cannot be edited.
- Recommendation: For optimal print quality, upload images at their original size.
Vector files:
- Supported Formats: .svg, .pdf
- File Size Limit: 2 MB
- Editing: The size and colors of graphic elements can be changed using our online editor.
- Restrictions:
- Strokes and gradients are not supported and will be automatically removed after uploading the vector file. Ensure strokes are expanded and only solid colors are used before uploading.
- The following SVG elements are not supported: clipPath, mask, filter.
- SVG/PDF file can contain a maximum of 3,000 elements and up to 50 bitmap images.
Please note that exporting an image as a .pdf does not convert it into a vector file; it remains a raster file. Additionally, PDFs exported from Canva are not supported. Only files in .jpg and .png formats from Canva can be used.
Customer file uploads
When creating custom designs, customers can upload the following by default:
- Raster graphics (images): accepted formats include .png and .jpg, with a maximum file size of 5 MB.
- Vector files: supported formats are .svg and .pdf, with a maximum size of 2 MB.
A shop owner has the flexibility to choose which formats customers are allowed to upload in the App > Preferences > Toolsets.
Large files
Businesses that offer custom designs for large format printing, including posters, wallpapers, tents, and other items, may require file size limits larger than the standard.
In these cases, customers with a STORE+ plan can have their file size limits increased to up to 20 MB for raster graphics and 3 MB for vectors.
Each case is carefully evaluated individually, so feel free to get in touch with our support team for a personalized solution.
